The Founders’ Remarkable Idea
The idea was born from the desire to reduce, as much as possible, the amount of waste produced each year by the disposal of damaged vehicles, helping to protect our planet.
By repurposing seat belt buckles, seat belts, and airbags from damaged vehicles that are sent to scrapyards every year, Airpaq backpacks and accessories were created.
In this way, we are paving the way for change toward a more creative and responsible use of our planet’s valuable and limited resources.
Every year, in Germany alone, approximately **500,000 tons of automotive waste** are discarded.¹ This waste includes unused, high-quality resources that are no longer used by the automotive industry or have been classified as waste.

In our view, a product is truly sustainable only if it is made from resource-efficient materials, produced under fair and socially responsible conditions, and built to last.
We combine sustainable, recycled materials with aesthetic design and practical functionality. We make use of valuable resources that already exist on our planet, reducing waste in the process. Our products are manufactured in the EU under fair and sustainable working conditions.
We are passionate about the idea of finding alternative uses for things that would otherwise end up as waste.
Our passion is driven by two key motivations.
First, we are convinced that sustainable practices such as recycling are essential to our life on this planet.
Second, we are fascinated by the unique character and distinctive appeal of products created from recycled materials.
At Airpaq, our goal is to bring these two motivations together by creating products that appeal to our customers on an ecological, ethical, and aesthetic level.
